Only connect! That was the whole of her sermon. Only connect the prose and the passion, and both will be exalted, and human love will be seen at its height. Live in fragments no longer. Only connect, and the beast and the monk, robbed of the isolation that is life to either, will die. (E.M. Forster, Howards End, chapter 22)
Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church is about connecting. Connecting to faith, to deep experiences of love and compassionate engagement, to spirit and soul and the divine life, to self and one another and neighbors; all of which connects to a stream of life larger than ourselves and larger even than all of these put together. Connecting to a whole that is much greater than the sum of its parts.
There are lots of opportunities to stay connected to what’s going on in this community. Come Sunday and ask around. Check out the bulletin board downstairs or the announcement board upstairs.
