Family Christmas Eve – 4:30pm
First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh, Shadyside

“The Spirit of the Christmas Tree” is a Christmas pageant written by Joyce Poley, a Canadian Unitarian Universalist composer who lives in Vancouver, British Columbia. With several original songs supplementingĀ  traditional carols, this delightful pageant presents understanding of the birth of Jesus, with special meanings for people of all ages. The First Church Family Choir will provide music. Seasonal refreshments provided after the service.

 

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Service for All Ages – 6pm
Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church, North Side

“Carols & Candles”. Share the season’s carols and lessons, both ancient and modern. Time to take a breath. Sing. Hear. Pray. Connect to what Christmas means for you. And maybe what you mean for Christmas. Bring the whole family. Stay afterwards for refreshments beside a warming fire.

 

Candlelight Christmas Eve – 7:30pm

With the ringing accompaniment of the Pittsburgh Ceremonial Brass and the First Church Sanctuary Choir, we will find in the traditional Christmas story our own Unitarian Universalist messages. Our spiritual theme for December is Grace, and the sermon will invite us to reflect on the unearned blessings in our lives. Come early to claim your seat! Candlelight Christmas Eve – 10pm

Those who prefer a somewhat quieter Christmas Eve are welcome to attend this service, as we again find in the traditional Christmas story our own Unitarian Universalist messages. Music will be provided by the Early Mays. They will be presenting Christmas songs from the traditional Appalachian folk music repertoire. Seasonal refreshments provided before the service.
