========== CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS ==========

SUMMER SOUL SPIRIT STOOP
Friday, August 7, 6:00PM – 8:00PM
Porch of Unitarian House at 1110 Resaca Place
In the tradition of a Northside “Stoop” Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church invites our friends and neighbors to our second Summer Soul Spirit Stoop. Join us. No church service, just drinks, appetizers, and a chance to chat. Do you have questions? We do too! Bring wine or a snack to share.  We’ll “Stoop” again on Friday, September 11.

SUNDAY SNACKS FOR CHILDREN
Our church kids enjoy snacks almost as much as the adults enjoy coffee. Our snack supply is getting low so we could use your help. Please add some juice boxes or cereal bars to your cart when you’re shopping. They also like boxed or packaged goldfish, peanut butter crackers, and small cups of fruit. Of course some of their favorite snacks are Oreos and chips. It’s fine if you leave the snacks in the church kitchen or in the U house kitchen. The kids will really appreciate it.  Thanks so much, The RE Team

START YOUR WEEKEND WITH THE HAPPIER HOUR!
Friday, August 14, 6:00PM
If traditional services don’t serve to nourish your minds and souls, Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church offers The Happier Hour, a vibrant and organic alternative service that includes many of the elements of Sunday service that you know and love (music, meditation, fellowship), while catering to those of us who, for whatever reason, need something a little different for their fulfillment.  We hope that you’ll join us for the first Happier Hour on August 14th at 6:00PM.  The service will last from 30-45 minutes, and the doors will open at 5:30PM.   This is to help leave the grind behind and kick off the weekend with some beverages (alcoholic and non-) and fellowship.  (Please be aware that we will not be providing child care.)  Please feel free to contact Shane Freeman with any questions at <shanecfreeman@gmail.com> or 724-709-4439.

THANK YOU FOR PURCHASING GIANT EAGLE CARDS
$2,347 was earned for Allegheny UU by our 13 monthly purchasers and half dozen occasional purchasers who bought Giant Eagle Cards during the past year (July 2014-June 2015). Giant Eagle contributes 4% or 5% to Allegheny depending on the value of the cards that we order. We’d like to move up to 5% on a monthly basis with the help of more shoppers.  If you shop at Giant Eagle, please consider buying cards to benefit Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church.  See Betty Schwarz on Sunday or email <office@alleghenyuu.org> for more information, or to place an order. It is a contribution that doesn’t cost you a cent.
