2016 Cluster Assembly of the
Unitarian Universalists of Greater Pittsburgh

Come for the Camaraderie, Connection, and Collaboration!

During the morning, we’ve assembled a panel of speakers who will reflect on “The Future of Our Democracy”.Many feel that the democratic foundation of our nation is threatened. By money, by corporate influence, by a rollback of voting rights, by political gridlock, by partisan media, by voter apathy. Some have called for a “moral revolution” or even a constitutional amendment to affect change. How are UUs called to act and respond to ensure that our principles and values are upheld? How is our justice work impacted? How can UUs and UU congregations work together to affect our course?

Our panelists will be: Rev John Welch, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary; Professor Bruce Ledewitz, Duquesne University; Chelsa Wagner, Allegheny County Controller; and Rev Joe Cherry, UU Society of Cleveland.

During the afternoon Rev Renee Ruchotzke of the Unitarian Universalist Association will lead an Open Space Workshop aimed at helping us explore opportunities for collaboration. Then our local ministers will lead a healing Worship Service.

When: Saturday November 5 from 9:30am – 3pm. Doors open at 8:30am
Where: First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh
