November 2 is “The Feast of All Souls” in the Christian calendar that follows “Samhain” in the European Pagan calendar. In both traditions, it is a time to connect to those who have “crossed over” before us. Celebrate the recent- or long-passed dearly departed. Bring a picture or memento of a loved one who has been a particular inspiration to you along your spiritual journey. We will be blessing them and our memories of them by building a communal “Altar to All Souls” during worship. Meanwhile, the children will be exploring the Mexican Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Come celebrate the legacy we have received and contemplate the ways our own legacy will inspire others when our time comes. See you at church!
